I first met Wendy in the summer of 2003 when she came to lunch bringing a bag of her lovely allotment produce. Since then, we have kept in touch discussing our latest genealogical research, both of us descendants of James Carter an engraver. Wendy was always very thorough in her research and when we have met up has always come well prepared with lots of photos of old documents etc. She organized a lovely day out at Bramley Mill with HRG cars in abundance and where it was lovely to meet other ‘cousins’. On another occasion she organized a lunch in a St Albans Hotel where several of us spent an intriguing afternoon perusing photos and sharing our knowledge of our ancestors. I will miss her contributions to learning more of my ancestry and will miss receiving her beautiful hand painted watercolour cards. She will be a great loss to all her family and many friends
